From the moment students arrived at the High School Summer Program on Sunday, they have been busy getting to know each other and 草榴社区, New England! Many attendees spent the early afternoon in the Bl. Frassati Student Center, socializing and playing foosball or pool. 鈥淚 came to the Open House earlier this year, and I鈥檓 so excited to be here at TAC again!鈥欌 gushed Maggie M.

At an orientation for parents, the group met three key players in the New England Summer Program:

Josef Froula
Summer Program Director Dr. Josef Froula&苍产蝉辫;鈥

John Jost
鈥 Admissions Director John Jost&苍产蝉辫;鈥

Fr. Miguel Batres
鈥 and Summer Program Chaplain Rev. Miguel Batres, O. Praem. ('08)

Afterward, Admissions Counselor Jean Gurreiro (鈥22) led a tour of the campus for both students and their families, showing them the stately buildings and classrooms. 鈥淚 can鈥檛 get over how beautiful this campus is!鈥欌 said Kianna L.

Following the tour, attendees and their families enjoyed a tasty barbeque dinner prepared with the help of Thomas Dula (NE 鈥26) and Brigid Wassell (CA 鈥27) on the lawn next to Blessed Frassati. Conversations flowed as students continued to encounter new names and faces.

Around 7:30, attendees and prefects gathered in Dolben Auditorium for the student orientation. 鈥樷橸ou all have a grand opportunity here,鈥欌 said Mr. Jost. 鈥樷橸ou will be able to experience a taste of the intellectual, spiritual, and community life here at TAC.鈥欌 Then came a hilarious slideshow introducing the prefects and staff, complete with wacky photos and fun facts about each prefect as laughter and applause filled the auditorium.

As the sun set behind the mountains, the high schoolers walked back to their residence halls, still laughing and chatting. 鈥樷橧鈥檓 really looking forward to discussing Oedipus Rex tomorrow,鈥欌 said Sarolta U. 鈥樷橧 think once I talk to other people about it and hear their opinions, I鈥檒l understand it much better.鈥欌
