Programmers also enjoyed diving into the water from the boat launch and taking a swim. Others chose to sit in the sun and chat, recalling their favorite parts of the past week and looking forward to the next. Admissions Counselors Andrew Grumbine (CA鈥24) and Jean Guerreiro (NE鈥22) started a game of volleyball, which was met with much enthusiasm. 鈥淭here鈥檚 just something about playing volleyball with a view of the water that makes it so much better,鈥 observed head women鈥檚 prefect Sophie Cummings (CA鈥23).
The smell of delicious barbecue started wafting through the pavilion as the sun sank lower in the sky. Summer Program Director Dr. Josef Froula (CA鈥89) and Director of Admissions John Jost (CA鈥17) took on the role of grill masters and expertly cooked over 100 pounds of New York strip steak for the hungry programmers. 鈥淭he steak was awesome,鈥 said Beatrice K.
Just as the students thought the fun was ending, the prefects made an announcement: Everyone was going to the famed for ice cream! Some students tried quirky flavors such as Purple Cow, while others stuck to classics such as Rocky Road, cookie dough, and mint chocolate chip. Filled up with ice cream, the programmers headed back to campus to change before study hour.
鈥淚t鈥檚 crazy that we鈥檙e already halfway done,鈥 said Margaret A. 鈥淚 can鈥檛 wait to see what next week has in store!鈥
